The Ellembelle District Assembly convened a special General Assembly meeting on Tuesday, 9th May, 2017 to confirm the President`s nominee, Mr. Stephen Donkor for the position of District Chief Executive at the forecourt of the Kwame Nkrumah Motel, Nkroful.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Regional Minister, Hon. Gifty Eugenia Kusi, the Member of Parliament for the Ellembelle Constituency, Hon. Armah Kofi Buah, Chiefs, the NPP`s Parliamentary Candidate for the 2016 general elections, Mr. K. Bonzo, other dignitaries, party faithfuls as well as the general public.

Brief Address by Presiding Member

Hon. Joseph Cudjoe welcomed members and the invited dignitaries to the Special Assembly Meeting for the confirmation of the President`s nominee, Mr. Stephen Donkor for the position of the District Chief Executive. He entreated Hon. Assembly members to follow the steps of other districts who have confirmed their respective nominees by endorsing the nominee hundred percent (100%).

Brief remarks by Deputy Regional Minister

Hon. Kusi in her short remarks expressed her unhappiness about what happened at Jomoro District and pleaded with the Hon. Assembly members to vote massively for Mr. Stephen Donkor to restore her confidence.

Brief Remarks by the Member of Parliament

Hon. Armah Kofi Buah briefly welcomed all and sundry to the meeting and added that, the interest of the Ellembelle District and that of the President are the reason for the meeting and therefore pleaded with the Hon. Assembly members to endorse the nominee massively.

Brief Remarks by the President`s Nominee (Mr. Stephen Donkor)

Mr. Donkor called on Hon. Assembly members to give him the needed nod to become the District Chief Executive. He also thanked the Chiefs and the general public for their massive support.

The Deputy Regional Electoral Officer took Hon. Assembly members through the voting process. Below details the result of the voting as declared by the Officer:

At the end, the Hon. Assembly Members did not confirm the President`s nominee.
