SERVICES PROVIDED BY AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT IN THE ELLEMBELLE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY.
The Department of Agriculture is to work in partnership with NGO’s in helping the community to produce sufficient supply of food, and also building the capacity of small holders to engage in farming as a business and to generate income for food security in households and community levels.
General Services provided under the agriculture unit program
- Extension delivery
- Home and farm visit
- Establishment field demonstrations (crops and animals)
- Collaborate with NGO’s on the Agriculture activities in the district
- They take all agriculture activities under the district assembly
- Organization of Farmers Day activities
- Coordinate information from the National and Regional agriculture department in the district
Under Veterinary services
- Surveillance of diseases and it’s control
- Monitoring and Inspections of Slaughter house and slaughter slabs
- Monitoring of livestock in and out of the district
- Control of Pets diseases
