Human Resource in a district Assembly involves managing the Assembly’s workforce through functions like recruitment, training, performance management, compensation and Staff welfare to ensure effective and efficient administration and service delivery. Its goal is to ensure that the Assembly has a competent, motivated and well-managed workforce that can effectively implement policies and contribute to the overall development of the district.

Key Responsibilities of the Human Resource Department

  • Recruitment and selection: Planning, coordinating and executing the hiring of new employees to meet the assembly’s staffing needs.
  • Training and Development: Organizing and coordinating Staff training programs to upgrade Staff skills, knowledge and capacities
  • Performance Management: Implementing performance management schemes to improve Staff productivity and service quality.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Managing wages, salaries and other benefits for employees.
  • Developing and maintaining a system to manage and update Staff records and other HR-related information.
  • Employee Relations: Managing issues related to employee relations, including grievances redress, disciplinary procedures and fostering good labor relations.
  • Reporting on all human resource-related activities and ensuring good inter-departmental collaboration
