The District Co-ordinating Director of the Ellembelle District Assembly, Mr. Innocent Haligah has passionately appealed to staff to change their attitude towards work for improved productivity.

He made the call at the end of year staff durbar held on Thursday, 22nd December, 2016 at the Kwame Nkrumah Motel in Nkroful.

He mentioned that since change is in the air, there was the need for staff to change their negative attitude towards work in order not to be victimized by their superiors since not all superiors will tolerate such attitudes.

He informed members that the Service started embarking on staff postings which has seen some officers posted to different districts and therefore admonished staff to embrace such postings as it forms part of the Service’s mandate to re-assign staff in the best interest of the service.

Mr. Haligah warned staff against circulating official information to outsiders adding that it is a breach of the oath of secrecy and puts the job of officers on the line. He pointed out that such act does not promote peace and tranquility and that it breaches trust of persons whose office leaks such information.

He finally advised staff to be mindful of partisan politics engagements and also informed staff of the New Local Government Act which replaces the Act 462, explaining that the Executive Committee within the new Act has a membership of eight and advised staff to get copies of it for their study.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Daniel K. Eshun for his part, thanked members for their commitments and hard work over the period. He therefore, advised staff to extend the same gesture to the in-coming Chief Executive for the development of the District.

He admonished staff to take their work seriously and uphold the integrity of the Local Government Service so that wherever they find themselves they would be outstanding for others to behold.

The staff durbar ended with an open forum where all staff were given the opportunity to express pressing issues to management.
