ELLEMBELLE DISTRICT RISK COMMUNICATION TEAM HOLDS END OF YEAR MEETING

As part of measures to review the activities of the 2017 year and strategize for the year 2018, the Ellembelle District Risk Communication Team has met to deliberate on the year’s activities and has instituted plans ahead of the New’ Year.

The District Director of Health Services in Ellembelle, Dr. Marion Okoh-Owusu applauded the Committee Members for their hard work in sustaining the team and assured members that she would assist in all possible ways to enable the team function effectively.

She indicated that the 0eam serves as an emergency response team for the District adding that in order to work effectively, the Health Directorate will provide the needed advice and assistance to enhance the Team’s work.

Dr. Marion urged the Team to be more proactive in its campaigns since it is the best way to prevent outbreak of diseases and spread of infectious diseases.

The Chairman for the Team, Mr. James Forson indicated that the Team will in the year 2018 embark upon health screening exercises and as well collaborate with community leaders to enable them report to the Team on any disease threat they come across in the communities to avoid its spread.

He hinted that the church-to-church campaigns will be intensified in the ensuing year to alert the public on H1N1, Meningitis, Cholera and other possible infections to save the District of such crises.

Mr. Forson, expressed worry over inadequate funds for the smooth execution of programmes and therefore hinted that mechanisims will be put in place to seek for funding to resource the Team to honour all its programmes diligently.
