ELLEMBELLE DISTRICT MARKS 60TH INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION

About Twenty-three (23) schools took part in the march past of the 60^th independence anniversary celebration which was held in Nkroful in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.

The 23 comprised of nine (9) Senior High School Cadets, four (4) Basic Cadets, six (6) Junior High Schools and four (4) Primary Schools.

Speaking on the theme “Mobilizing for Ghana’s Future,” the District Co-ordinating Director who is also the Acting District Chief Executive, Mr. Innocent Haligah called on all and sundry to embrace the change positively by making it work in their lives.

According to him, the theme for the celebration is very appropriate because, it would foster unity among Ghanaians for national development.

He therefore, admonished the students to take their studies serious since they are the future of the nation.

The best boy and girl in the Basic Education Certificate Examination for the year 2016 were given cash price of GH400.00 while the second best boy and girl best were be given GH¢ 200.00.

The Chairman for the 6^th March Local Committee in Nkroful, Mr. Godfred Erbah intimated that the celebration was preceded with a football match as well as a bonfire on the 4^th & 5^th March adding that the celebration was a successful one.

The march past ended with Nkroful Agric Senior High school Cadet emerging winners of the SHS cadet category with a certificate and books as their prize, Yaneba took the first prize for the Junior High School category with a certificate and books and Rock of Ages took the first prize in the basic school cadet category.
