ELLEMBELLE BRANCH OF GHANA BLIND UNION INAUGURATE EXECUTIVES

The Ghana blind union branch of the Ellembelle District has inaugurated eight (8) executives to run the affairs for the union for the next four years.

Addressing the guests at the ceremony, the Western Regional Chairman for the Ghana Blind Union Mr. James Kofi Osei indicated that the Ellembelle branch is the 163^rd union nationally  and 17^th in the western region which is being inaugurated.

He mentioned that the slogan of the Union is “Dignity and progress” adding that it seeks to promote the welfare of its members by urging them to acquire skill training such as soap making, beads making and engaging in trade to enable them live independently.

He enumerated some of their challenges as funds, white cane, capital to start business after training among others.

Mr. Osei then encouraged the newly elected officers to work assiduously by writing proposals to companies, churches and organizations for assistance in order to grow the union.

The newly elected Chairman for the Ellembelle Branch Mr. Joseph Kainyah who spoke on behalf of the elected executives thanked members for the trust imposed in them and promised to work tirelessly to achieve greater success by the end of their tenure and then appealed to members to support them to make their vision a reality.
