The Al-Saqya Foundation, an Arab based charity foundation that provides infrastructure development to Islamic institutions in Africa has been honoured through the presentation of a citation by the Hassaniya Islamic School in the Ellembelle District for their immense contribution towards the infrastructural development of the School.
The Director of the Foundation, Sheikh Mohammed indicated that the edifice which is a mosque and a 6-unit classroom block, office and a staff common room was a way to ensure that the Islamic Religion thrives in the Aiyinase Community.
He indicated that being in the Aiyinase Community has strengthened their relations of belonging and thanked the chiefs and elders for making it to the programme and then prevailed upon the gathering to pray earnestly for the financiers of the project so that they can do more for the Muslims across Africa.
For her part, the District Director of Education, Mrs. Frances Mabel Williams thanked the Foundation for the project adding that their gesture proves that they have education at heart.
She urged parents to provide the needs of their wards to enable them study hard to make good grades and also prevailed upon teachers to be good role models and coaches to their students adding that it will motivate them to forge ahead in pursing higher education.
She again, urged them to take good care of the facility to benefit future generations.
The Deputy Regional Manager of Islamic Education Unit of the Western Region, Alhaji Mustapha Iddrisu who spoke on behalf of the Regional Manager pointed out that secular and religious education are paramount to building economic and religious development of children.
He said the establishment of the project was a step in the right direction and therefore appealed to the donors to consider other Islamic Institutions such as the Senior High Schools and other Islamic basic schools for the provision of such facility to enhance education.
He also thanked the Foundation for the massive investment and passionately prevailed upon the management of the school to use it for its intended purpose and ensure its maintenance to prolong the lifespan of the project.
Management of the Hassaniya Islamic School presented a citation to the Al-Saqya Foundation for their contribution to the school’s development.
