ELLEMBELLE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY INAUGURATES ASSEMBLY MEMBERS

As part of government’s directive to inaugurate all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembly Members, the Ellembelle District Assembly has inaugurated members of the 8th General Assembly of the District.
The inauguration which was held at the forecourt of the Kwame Nkrumah’s Motel in Nkroful saw dignitaries including Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei, Deputy Minister of Communications, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, the District Magistrate, His Worship Caleb Joshua Abaidoo and Traditional Leaders in attendance.
In his welcome address, the Hon. District Chief Executive, Kwasi Bonzoh thanked all present especially the former Assembly Members for their selflessness and devotion to the Assembly in its development and expressed hope that the new members would also give up their best for more developments in the District.
He assured members of his cooperation and support to move the development of the District to a higher pedestal in building one-cohesive Ellembelle.
The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah also congratulated Hon. Assembly Members on their election and indicated that they have been privileged by their people who have confidence in them to deliver to ensure development in their respective areas.
He appealed to them to put themselves up to serve diligently putting aside their political differences and fight for development of the District and the nation at large. He again urged them to ask critical questions at sub committee meetings which will hold management accountable to ensure development.
Presenting the address on behalf of the president, Hon. Odotei congratulated all Elected Members, as well as Appointees and the Unit Committee Members and reminded them on the need for them to play critical roles in ensuring that government delivered diligently on its promises to Ghanaians.
He mentioned that their inauguration comes at a time when efforts are being made by Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to enhance internally generated funds (IGF) of MMDAs and implored on them to take advantage of the innovative systems to improve IGF.
Hon. Odotei charged the Assembly to use its bye-laws to enforce compliance in the management and environmental health standards to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
He wished members well in their tenure of office and reminded them that their people required traits of selflessness, devotion to duty, accountable stewardship and ability to deliver efficient services to improve the lives of the people. He therefore declared the Ellembelle District Assembly duly inaugurated.
