The Hon. Assembly Members for Ellembelle have voted to confirm Hon. Kwasi Bonzoh as District Chief Executive on his second attempt since the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo mentioned his name.
He attained 35 Yes votes out of a total vote of 52. 15 members voted No and 2 of the votes were rejected.
The Western Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Angelina Tagoe announced his victory shortly after the voting exercise. She mentioned that the Hon. DCE was supposed to attain two thirds of the votes amounting to 35 Yes votes to confirm him.
She indicated that since he was able to attain such number, he was the DCE elect of the District.
The Western Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah on behalf of the President swore Hon. Kwesi Bonzoh into office. He again took the oath of allegiance.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Kwasi Bonzoh expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency the President, Nanamo of Ellembelle, Hon. Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Hon. Assembly Members and the Party Executives.
He promised to work hard in the interest of Ellembelle and therefore prevailed upon all members to unite to enhance the development of the District.
